Born 1951 in Copenhagen, Denmark where he currently resides.
Jorgen Angel has been a successful photographer since his teenage days in the mid-1960s. He started with rock 'n' roll, a personal as well as professional passion, and worked exclusively photographing rock bands on stage, on the road and at home from the late sixties until the early eighties. Along the way he traveled extensively and met and photographed many of the greats - Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper and photographed the first gig ever by Led Zeppelin, then the New Yardbirds.
Angel has provided photographs for magazines, album covers, books, and more, that were taken all over Scandinavia, Great Britain and the United States - at concerts, press receptions, exclusive recording sessions and on the road. Angel's visual art has it's strength in the warm relationships he developed with his subjects.
Jorgen Angel lived and captured a golden era in rock 'n' roll, clicking over 50,000 photographs of rock stars over a fifteen-year span. Today he spends his time digitizing his expansive catalogue! |
